Queen’s Park’s ‘Tickets for Schools’ Programme visited St John Paul II this week with Castlemilk boy Alex Fairlie handing over Match Tickets for Saturday’s game with Partick Thistle at Hampden as well as Black and White scarves and Queen’s Park T-shirts.
The pupils from the Dunagoil Road school were delighted to meet Alex, and quiz him on life as a professional football in The cinch Championship with the attacking midfielder saying: “It was great to lead our ‘Tickets for Schools’ programme visit to St John Paul II. I have seen loads of primary schoolchildren at our home games this season already and they always add a level of positivity. I am sure the pupils of John Paull II will do the same.
“It was great to be asked so may questions even though some of them were difficult to answer.”
As part of the ‘Tickets for Schools’ programme Queen’s Park’s club partners McDades Coaches will take the school party to and from the game at The National Stadium with Queen’s Park’s Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary saying: “The ‘Tickets for Schools’ Programme has been a success this season. It involves sponsors, players, staff from the club and most importantly the local schools and our thanks go to everyone who has been involved in making that the case.”
“I know that Alex was warmly welcomed at St John Paul II and we look forward to providing the same welcome when they come to Saturday’s game.”
