Jackson Barr has been selected as the second Queen’s Park Academy Player of the Month with the under-14 defender chosen by the Academy’s Technical Staff due to his commitment to learning, growing and performing.
Leo Clark was the initial winner in January for his consistent investment in himself, 100% effort in training and games, as well as contributing positively to a winning culture with Jackson rewarded this month for similar behaviours.
Coach Ryan McSherry said: “Jackson is a great boy to have within the group. He sets a fantastic example to his team-mates by the way he trains and plays. He also always shows a desire to make a difference during both good and tough periods in training sessions and in matches.”
“He is very curious and eager to learn.”
Ryan added: “Jackson is always looking for ways to improve and has a quiet determination to better himself each day. That leads to a dedication to his game. He knows already that despite having great technical qualities, leadership and passion he has to put in hard work to achieve his goals.”
“To his credit Jackson shows positive qualities each day. He buys into everything we are trying to do and is continually pushing himself to become better. That helps set a fantastic example, firstly to his team-mates, and then onto the wider academy.”
“Being selected as the Queen’s Park Academy Player of the Month for February is great recognition for Jackson’s efforts and is very much deserved. Knowing him he will take great pride in receiving the award and will continue to be a role model to all in the Academy.”
As part of the recognition for a fantastic February Jackson spent a day training with the Queen’s Park First Team and spending time off the field with the players as you can see in the attached pictures.
