Queen’s Park travel to Airdrieonians on cinch Championship duty on Friday night with the sides meeting for the first time since the Spiders secured promotion to the Championship since the Play-offs in May 2022.
The 2-1 extra-time (3-2 on aggregate) success Queen’s Park enjoyed that day was the eighth time the teams had met that season with success ironically being the first the Glasgow club enjoyed.
Head Coach Robin Veldman, who was in Brussels earlier this week as part of his UEFA Pro-Licence Qualification, spoke to QPTV about the match with the Diamonds.
Robin covered:
- Being at Belgium v Sweden
- Falkirk review
- Possession side Airdrie
- Talented Young Queen’s Park

The cinch Championship so far
Queen’s Park earned a goalless draw in their last league outing when Greenock Morton visited Hampden with the point taking Robin Veldman’s squad into double figures for the season. The visit to Airdrie gives Queen’s the chance to win on the road for the third time in this campaign.
Airdrie who won promotion via the play-offs sit in fifth place, two places above their visitors, having won four times in the Championship this season.
