QUEEN’S PARK will finally catch up on their fixture backlog on Tuesday with a visit to Ayr United.
The Honest Men called off this previously scheduled meeting on January 3 due to a frozen pitch.
Back then the Spiders were on a run of three wins in their last six – a tally they have matched again heading into this one.
Saturday’s 1-0 win over Airdrieonians hoisted Sean Crighton’s team to sixth – three points off Ayr in fifth.
By co-incidence, the sides meet again in what’s become a double header on Saturday at The city Stadium – but after two draws so far between the sides this season, Sean Crighton is expecting another tight, and tough, game.

The Season so far...
For two teams fairly close in the league standings, Ayr and Queen’s Park have had differing seasons.
The Honest Men have been in and around the promotion play-off places for much of the campaign and the Spiders have flirted with the relelgation play-off spot – slipping into it on occasion.
However now they are side by side in the table after a surge in Spiders form.
In terms of stats, Ayr have the second highest shots on target ratio in the division. They may only have hit 231 – the third fewest in the William Hill Championship – but they’ve made sure 195 are on target, the third most in the division.
Queen’s, by the same marker, are 10th for each tally.
The Spiders are also tenth on crime count too – only having one red card this season, shown to Henry Fieldson in the last meeting between these sides in October. United have had three.
