Queen’s Park Football Club would like to thank everyone who took the time to suggest a name for our recently re-furbished and re-opened bar in the JB McAlpine Pavilion at The city Stadium. We are now in the final stages of selecting the name and would again welcome support from our fans to do so.
Many of the nominations we received over the past month looked to recognise the fantastic service of club legends both on the park and off it. When we looked at the service all these individuals had given, and the history they all had at the club, we felt it was unfair to pick just one individual ahead of the rest.
That meant we were left with recognising all of the club legends suggested, so we have therefore turned to the most popular suggestions that remained.
We are delighted to confirm that the most popular proposed names that remained were as follows:
Bar 1867 – After the year we were founded.
Spiders Web – After the Queen’s Park nickname.
The Crossbar – After Queen’s Park suggesting the use of a solid crossbar in Association Football.
We would now ask you to advise your selection from these three by sending an email to hospitality@queensparkfc.co.uk or by calling the club on 0141 632 1275.
It would be great if this should be done by Friday, September 8 at 4 pm and once the winning name has been chosen the club will be in contact with all those who nominated it initially to finalise details of the prizes on offer from world renowned brewers Tennent’s Lager.
