CONGRATULATIONS to Spiders No1 Calum Ferrie – voted Buck’s Bar Player of the Month for April – after a ‘superhuman’ end to the season.
The goalkeeper was hailed by gaffer Sean Crighton for his heroics at Cappielow, and praised by club captain Euan Murray for his influence in the dressing room this season.
And that praise was reflected in an over-whelming win for Ferrie in the April player of the month award, sponsored by Buck’s Bar.
Calum was a regular at the rock’n’roll chicken restaurant in Cathcart Road last season – but this term he’s landed his first, with the last poll of the season.
This season has seen some close calls – even single votes deciding the supporters’ choice but there was no question of the winner this month with the keeper collecting 66% of the votes.
That was far away from joint runners-up Scott Martin, Matthew Shiels and Henry Fieldson who were joint runners-up, narrowly ahead of Louis Longridge and Magnus Mackenzie.
Calum collected his monthly prize with a visit to Buck’s Bar at 1021 Cathcart Road – just around the corner from The city Stadium where some hot wings – chosen by skipper Murray – were waiting for him.
The southside restaurant is one of five throughout Scotland in Glasgow, Edinburgh and St Andrews, boasting an array of chicken dishes, vegetarian and vegan options and hot sauces from around the world.
