Buck’s Bar Player of Month For August is Jack Spong

Queen’s Park midfielder Jack Spong saw off tough competition from a number of his team-mates to be voted as the first ever Buck’s Bar Southside Player of the Month.

Jack, who joined the Spiders from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, starred up in the Highlands against Inverness Caledonian Thistle and in the double header against Arbroath with his defence splitting pass at Gayfield creating the winner.

The 21-year-old clinched his award in the eyes of the club’s fans with his display against Partick Thistle at Firhill with Jack saying: “I came to Queen’s Park to prove myself at a first team level. Playing in the Championship is very different to Academy and Under-21 games. I believe that I made a good start to playing in Scotland and I have to thank my team-mates for helping me settle in and for all their help on the pitch.

“I am told that the voting was very tight and that is not a surprise as lots of the boys did well in August.”

Buck’s Bar Southside said: “It was great to present Jack with his prize as the Queen’s Park Player of the Month for August. It was terrific to see the fans get involved in the voting and we are really looking forward to seeing who else picks up an award this season.”
