Buck’s Bar Player of the Month for January – Cammy Bruce

Cammy Bruce has topped off a busy time in his young life by picking up the Bucks’ Bar Southside Queen’s Park Player of the Month for January 2024.

The award chosen by supporters of the club has added to a memorable time for the left-sided attack minded defender who recently turned 18, then started every game for the Spiders in January before scoring his first ever goal and then getting called up by the National side ahead of being picked as the top performer last month.

Cammy said: “I had my birthday just before the end of 2023 and then 2024 has been a very good year for me so far. Hopefully, that will continue. Scoring my first goal was a great feeling and then getting picked for the Scotland under-19 squad was massive for me and my family.

“Recognition like that is great for your confidence and having the fans vote for me as the Bucks’ Bar Park Player of the Month is a very good feeling as well.

“I feel I am starting to help the club achieve good results but I know there is more to come from me and the team. The last few games have been good but we know that we have to keep working really hard to get wins.”

January started with Cammy back in the team at Partick Thistle and he then went on to help them secure wins from kick-off against Dunfermline and Raith Rovers, where he found the net for the first time when he controlled a pass from Tommy Robson with his left foot, and then curled the ball into the far corner with his right.

Cammy’s prize is a voucher for Bucks’ Bar Southside which he is set to share with his parents as he explained: “I am looking forward to going there and my mum and dad will be happy that it is on me.”
