Queen’s Park goalkeeper Calum Ferrie has followed team-mates Jack Spong and Barry Hepburn in the Award stakes after being chosen by Spiders’ supporters as the Buck’s Southside Player of the Month for October.
Jack won in August and Barry in September with the club’s number one Ferrie selected as the winner this time out after strong displays in the league against Morton, Airdrie and Partick Thistle as well as in the SPFL Trust Trophy tie at Falkirk.
Awards are nothing new to Calum as he was selected as the shot-stopper for the PFA Team of the season back in May before also winning the much-coveted Young Supporters Player of the Year from the club’s supporters.
Calum said: “It is always nice for your performances to be recognised by supporters so I am delighted to win the Buck’s Southside Player of the Month for October. I know that voting was the same as it was in previous months, in that it was close, so I would like to thank everyone who selected me.
“I am already looking forward to seeing who wins the Player of the Month for November.”
The 25-year-old was put to very good use when he visited Buck’s on Cathcart Road as he was asked to help select the finalists in the Restaurants ‘Design A Buck’s Shake’ that was run in connection with local Primary Schools.
Calum said: “There were some very interesting combinations chosen by the entrants. The final judges will have a hard job picking a winner.”
