CHARLIE FOX has had a packed schedule to see him through September.
Alongside his ongoing injury recovery and rehabilitation, the Spiders stalwart has been on duty with the Queen’s Park commercial and media teams fulfilling various roles away from the football side of the club.
Matchday mascots for games against Morton and Ayr United enjoyed a pre-match kick-about during the players warm-up with the central defender, who also provided a pre-match welcome as well as full-time analysis for guests in the Black and White Lounge at each game.
Charlie was also a popular panellist at half-time of the Ayr United match – televised live on BBC where he joined host Jonathan Sutherland and Scotland legend James McFadden to discuss the game, his injury and his new role at the club.
Of course there’s more to life at Queen’s Park than simply Lochinch and The city Stadium and Charlie has been out and about in our southside community meeting fans of the future in our Tickets for Schools programme.
You can watch each visit, with videos edited by Charlie himself, on Queen’s Park social media and Youtube channel.
More recently Charlie has also joined head of commercial Kieran Koszary and ticketing manager Mhairi Gordon to pay a special visit to life member Graham McAlpine at his office in Hillington.
You’ll also spot Foxy in model guise soon, helping out the QPSA with some upcoming retail offerings.
October is shaping up to be just as busy, but Charlie wouldn’t have it any other way.
He said: “It’s been a real privilege to experience the other side of the football club away from the pitch and training ground.
“It helps you appreciate the work going on within the club and it’s so enjoyable meeting our fans – young and old – who support the club and make Queen’s Park the great family club it is.
“As I said on BBC Scotland, the club has been brilliant with me and I am working hard in the gym on my rehabilitation – but I’m working just as hard with Mhairi and Kieran on the commercial and community side too.
“I look forward to seeing more Spiders fans, sponsors and schools throughout in October and continuing to cheer on the boys from the stand.”
