Charlie is back

QUEEN'S PARK are delighted to announce that defender Charlie Fox has extended his contract until 2023

Charlie first joined the club in July 2021, from Bromley, and made his Queen’s Park debut against Airdrieonians in the Premier Sports Cup.

He went on to make 38 appearances in 2021-22. Charlie also scored three goals during season.

The powerful defender, whose ability in the air in defence and direct attacking contributed much to our success in the Championship play-offs in May.

Charlie Fox: ‘I can’t wait to get going and hope to solidify Queen’s Park in the next level and beyond’
“I am delighted to have signed as a Spider for another year. I am really looking forward to building on last season’s hard-fought success. Queen’s Park is a very ambitious club and we all want to keep the momentum going from the end of last season. Being back in this great city and returning to Lesser Hampden motivates me to keep pushing on personally, delivering performances and results for the loyal Spiders fans.”

After the arrival of Marijn, the culture of how we approach football positively changed at the club, and with the confidence Owen has given me, I have no doubt we can become a team that plays modern, attractive football. I can’t wait to get going and hope to solidify Queen’s Park in the next level and beyond.”

Marijn Beuker: ‘With his strength and defensive skills, he is a solid part of the defensive block’
“We are very happy to have finally re-signed Charlie Fox. He has proven last season that with his strength and defensive skills he is a solid part of the defensive block. But more important he has showed the ability to build up properly, keep the ball on the deck and find ways to deliver balls to our key-zones. That’s what the modern game of football requires and we are happy to continue with Charlie in this.”

Owen Coyle: ‘Delighted that we have convinced Charlie to continue his career at Queen’s.’
“We are delighted that we have convinced Charlie to continue his career at Queen’s. Having won the QP player of the year, there was some interest from other clubs. But Charlie had chosen to continue developing in our exciting setup, which we are, of course, very happy with.”
