Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Can I take the opportunity at this Festive time of year to thank you – the supporters, sponsors and partners – who have worked with us to make the past year such a memorable one for Queen’s Park.
It’s often said but on this occasion it is heartfelt; we could not have done it without you. Thank you.
Gaining promotion to the cinch Championship after a successful League One campaign meant further strides forward for the Club as we seek to achieve something special in our national game.
Scotland’s oldest and most senior club, Queen’s Park, which gave the modern, passing game to the world, is on a uniquely remarkable journey. Moving from amateur to professional status, successive promotions have been achieved. And we are still very much in the hunt this season.
But while success on the pitch is very important to us all, it is just as vital that we succeed in all that we do on and off the pitch. And that is what will make the club stand out – our absolute commitment in two important areas; developing talented young footballers and being absolutely engaged in our communities. We’re building the club from the grassroots up.
So what exactly do we wish for this Christmas?
I can speak for everyone at this great and historic club when I say we want to carry on making history. We want to compete on the pitch. We want to do that by developing talented young footballers and giving them a brilliant platform and great and innovative coaching. We are determined to achieve Scottish FA Club Academy Scotland Elite status for our fantastic Academy – a huge step forward for our club and young players. We are determined to continue our quest to have a community football programme for all.
We want our values to speak for us – our absolute belief in community. We want to grow our amazing schools programme still further. We want our community foundation to be acknowledged as an essential driver for positive change in Glasgow. We want to grow our relationships with sponsors and partners. And we want to grow our supporter base and make you ever prouder of your club – on and off the pitch. And finally, we look forward to a return to the South side, not long now.
A peaceful, joyful festive season to you all
