Club captain David Galt is one of several players leaving Queen’s Park at the end of their current contracts.
The 30-year-old talisman first signed for the Spiders in July 2015 before re-signing in January 2019 after a brief spell away from Hampden. He made over 170 appearances for the club, banging in 22 goals, none more treasured than “that goal” against Clyde in a play-off match at Broadwood in May 2016.
Head Coach Laurie Ellis said ”In the time I have been at Queen’s Park, David has been a pleasure to work with. His work ethic, commitment to the club and the team have been exemplary. It was fantastic to see David lift the league trophy and I wish him all the very best.”
Other players departing are our loan signings who have returned to their parent clubs (Ryan Mullen, Brody Paterson, and Luca Connell to Celtic and Salim Kouider-Aïssa to Livingston) as well as Craig Slater, Ross MacLean and Canice Carroll.
The club would like to thank all those leaving us for their contribution during their time with us, particularly in helping secure the League 2 title last season and wish them well for the future.
News of player signings will be confirmed in due course.
