HUNDREDS of entries for Queen’s Park and Buck’s Bar ‘Design a Milkshake’ competition were received last month.
And Battlefield Primary pupil Corrie McPhee proved to be the cream of the crop with his delicious drink idea.
His creative concoction wowed our expert panel of judges with it’s clever name, perfect blend of ingredients and passed the all-important taste test.
The 11-year-old suggested maple syrup and pecan nuts for his shake – and saw it brought to life by the team at Buck’s Bar on Cathcart Road.
The rock ‘n’ roll chicken restaurant are proud partners of Queen’s Park FC and Corrie will not only see his drink on the restaurant menu – but he’ll also dine out on his idea too with his family treated to their choice of wings, buttermilk chicken and the legendary choice of sauce.
All washed down, of course, by a glass of ‘Corrie’s Cozy Campfire’.
The P7 pupil treated a class-mate, plus teacher Miss Thompson, to his tasty sweet treat – and added the finishing touches to their shakes with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pecans on top.
Corrie said: “I like the flavours – maple syrup and pecan are some of my favourites.
“I spoke about the recipe with my friend Ava and we imagined drinking it outside beside a campfire and that’s how we came up with the name ‘Corrie’s Cozy Campfire’.
“It’s been so exciting to win and taste it for real – I’m looking forward to seeing my creation on the menu and bringing my family along for a meal.
“Of course we’ll be having my milkshakes all round too.”
Owner of Buck’s Bar, Michael Bergson, said: “Once again we were amazed and inspired by the school kids’ incredible creations.
“There was some serious competition but Corrie’s really stood out and I can assure everyone that it’s delicious. Well done to everyone involved.”
