Danny Wilson signs for Queen’s Park

Queen’s Park’s Head Coach Callum Davidson’s search for a defender that could add experience to his side has come to a positive end with five times capped Scotland defender Danny Wilson coming on board at The Spiders on an 18-month contract subject to SFA approval.

Signing Wilson, who started his career at Rangers and went on to Liverpool before having spells at Hearts and Rangers again before heading to America with Colorado Rapids, is a bit of a ‘coup’ according to Davidson who said: “Danny has all the experience we have been looking for and he also has a great pedigree in the game. Getting him to sign for his is a bit of a coup as not only is he an excellent player but he will help this club greatly in terms of bringing on our young defenders.

“There are boys here who will go on to have long careers in the game as they were given a very good grounding in it on the pitch by Danny. It is great to have him in our squad.”

As part of an interview with QPTV that will be aired later on today Danny said: “I am delighted to be here and delighted to be part of a club which is progressive. It has been a while since I played in Scotland and I am looking forward to playing here again.”
