David Boateng on loan from Crystal Palace

QUEEN'S PARK are delighted to announce that David Akrobor-Boateng has signed on a season long loan from Crystal Palace

21 year old full back David Akrobor-Boateng has joined Queen’s Park on a season long loan from English Premier League side Crystal Palace.

David joined Palace, aged 8 and signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2017. Playing mainly in the full-back role but with the ability to fill in in midfield, he became a regular in the U18s’ Professional Development League winning team during 2017/18.

In season 2020/21 Boateng capped a fine campaign with the Under-23s by scoring at Selhurst Park in Palace’s crucial victory over Middlesbrough, as they qualified for the play-offs in their first season as a Category 1 Academy.

In 2021/22, David Boateng made 19 appearances for Crystal Palace’s U23s, including three appearances in the Papa John’s Trophy.

David made the first-team bench in the Carabao Cup tie against Oxford United in August 2022.

David Boating: ‘I am very happy to have joined Queen’s Park on loan’
“I am very happy to have joined Queen’s Park on loan. This team has a lot of ambition and aspirations to reach the top of football and I’m happy to be part of it. I’m happy to part of a group/team that is striving for medals and hopefully we can get some this season. Individual I just want to improve as much as I can and hopefully make a name for myself by my performances.”

Marijn Beuker: ‘A modern wing back who can bring extra threat to our team.’
“We are happy to have signed David Boateng. He is a modern wing back who can bring extra threat to our team. He is quick and looks to go forward to provide the team with overlaps. But he is also skillful enough to play as what they call these days an inverted wing back. We are happy with him joining us.”

Owen Coyle: ‘A great talent at his club Crystal Palace’
“David is a good addition to our squad. He is regarded as a great talent at his club Crystal Palace and gets the chance to have experience in a good competition. He is in great shape and we are looking forward to seeing him show his ability in a Queen’s Park shirt.”
