Dom Thomas agrees extended contract until June 25

Dom Thomas has completed a very good weekend for Queen’s Park and him by agreeing to extend his stay at the club by a further year.

The new deal completes a ‘hat-trick’ of achievements for the 27-year-old this weekend as he skippered the Spiders for the first time in yesterday’s win at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and also produced a fine finish for the club’s first Championship goal of the season.

‘Super Dom Thomas’ as he is known by the Queen’s Park fans played for Motherwell, Queen of the South, Kilmarnock, Dumbarton and Dunfermline Athletic before joining the club in June 2022 on a two-year contract.

Since then, the Scottish under-21 cap has played in 51 games and found the net 13 times.

Dom said: “I am delighted to be extending my stay at this club and to continue on our fantastic journey. I have enjoyed my time with Queen’s Park and I am looking forward to creating more positive memories.

“I feel this is the best place for me to continue the development of my career whilst also helping this team and club achieve their goals.

“I would like to thank the club, fans and, of course, my team mates for the journey so far and I look forward to Queen’s Park progressing even more.”

Queen’s Park’s Director of Football Marijn Beuker said: “We are very pleased to have added another season to Dom’s time at the club. Last season, Dom was one of our most productive players and he has proven to be an important part of the clubs plans.

“It is not only on the football pitch where Dom is important, but also off the pitch as he shows leadership and takes our players by the hand. We are happy that he can use his experience in our young team for the upcoming season and beyond.”
