Three goals in three wins for Queen’s Park helped ensure that Spiders skipper Dom Thomas was selected as The cinch Championship Player of the Month for February.
The attacker started February by grabbing the only goal of the game up at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and followed that up with a wonder-strike at Dunfermline as Callum Davidson’s side enjoyed a 3-0 success.
Thomas, who celebrated his 28th Birthday on Valentine’s Day, played both out wide and in the middle during February and he rounded off last month by scoring the fourth goal as Arbroath were defeated 6-0 at Hampden.
“It was a good month for the club as we picked up ten points in total” said Thomas before adding: “And it was good for me to find the net three times and receive this Player of The Month Award.
“The goal against Dunfermline was a highlight as it was a good strike however I would not have been able to score it had Ben McPherson not won the ball and passed it me. Jack Thomson did likewise at Inverness and my goal against Arbroath came from an assist from our goalkeeper Calum Ferrie, so it has been a real team effort.”
“We have done well to turn things around under our new Head Coach however there is still a lot of work to be done this season.”
Head Coach Davidson said: “I have been delighted with what Dom has given me on and off the pitch since I came in. He has a great enthusiasm for football and that rubs off on the rest of the players in the Dressing Room.”
