He spoke to the media team on the eve of the match, saying: “It’s another huge match and it goes without saying but we are very much looking forward to it. We know what’s at stake but it’s important that we approach this one like we have done every other game. The preparation has been no different and our focus going into it is getting the three points. We need to make sure we are at the races from the start and I always say, ensure we reach the consistency levels that we strive to reach in every game.”
“We have taken massive confidence from Saturday’s victory, not only in getting the win, but the manner in which we won it. It’s not good for the blood pressure but what a way it was to win a game. I thought we played well for long spells but to then find ourselves behind and go on to to win in like we did, has given everyone a real lift and sets us up nicely for this game and the final run in beyond tonight.”
“We know Elgin will have their own ambitions of securing a play off and know they will make life very difficult for us. We had them watched at the weekend and by all accounts although they lost the game, they looked a real danger going forward and created plenty of chances. On many other days they wouldn’t have lost the goals they did in that game. They have a strong squad and are in the position that they are challenging for a play off spot because they are a good team, so we expect nothing but a difficult game.”
“If we can do what we have done well this season in terms of focussing on ourselves and on our own performance levels, we’ll give ourselves the best possible chance of taking the three points and getting ourselves over that line.”
