Foundation Announces Restructure

Following a strategic review, the Foundation is announcing a restructure within its senior management framework which will see current Chief Executive Officer Charlie Bennett move on to the Foundation Board as executive director with responsibility for strategic planning and major projects.

The move will also see the creation of the new post of General Manager which will have the responsibility for the day to day delivery of Foundation services and the management of facilities.

Commenting on the changes Leeann Dempster said: “Since it’s incorporation in March 2022 the Foundation has developed quickly achieving very positive outcomes for local people. We now have Community Officers working within partnership schools on a daily basis, record numbers are attending our community football programme which has just achieved the Scottish FA Quality Mark, and we are working across the South Side to alleviate the impacts of poverty and health inequalities with a number of partnership organisations. This rapid growth places an important emphasis on the need for increased strategic planning and the recognition that major projects such as our proposal to reopen the Holyrood Sports Centre as a Community Sports Hub requires direction from Board level. Bringing Charlie on to the Foundation Board will allow us to strengthen this approach.”

Charlie Bennett said: “The Foundation with the support of the Club is committed to helping local communities through the challenges they face, and we have made significant progress since the charity was incorporated in March 2022. However, it’s important we maintain our strategic approach to service and facility development and build on our current successes. I look forward to this new role and working with our new General Manager and the Foundation Board to achieve our strategic objectives.”
