Goalie Scores with School Visit

Queen’s Park players visited Mount Florida Primary School pupils earlier this week to see what lessons youngsters who had attended the 2-1 home win over Cove Rangers might have learned.

In a new addition to their Tickets for Schools programme, goalie Calum Ferrie joined the youngsters and asked them how they had enjoyed their trip to the game.

Kieran Koszary, Head of Commercial at the club, said: “The event was a great success and the kids enjoyed asking questions to Calum about the match and sharing their experience from their day watching the Spiders. We’d like to thank the kids for their support and we look forward to welcoming more Tickets for Schools fans along in future.”

Calum also presented a signed pair of gloves to young Spencer Stewart who was deemed to have asked the best question on the day.

Caroline Gibson, Head Teacher from Mount Florida Primary said: “Thank you very much to Queen’s Park FC for the match tickets for our children on Saturday. The children had a great time, made even better by the win. It was lovely to be able to attend myself this time and see how much the children enjoyed the game and the combination of having a family day out and also being with their friends.

The children were extremely excited on Tuesday to meet the goalkeeper and, as well as other questions, ask him about the game they had just been to. Thank you very much to the club for organising this and to Calum for coming over to talk to the children.

We are really looking forward to working further with the club over the year and wish them all the best for the rest of the season.”
