Goalkeeper Sam Kane becomes a Spider

Queen’s Park have signed goalkeeper Sam Kane on a two year contract with Director of Football Marijn Beuker delighted to welcome the 17-year-old to the club.

Sam started off his football journey in Boy’s Club Football in 2011 before signing for Motherwell in 2014 and after one season with The Steelmen he moved into the Rangers Academy Schoolboy Programme aged nine.

Last summer the shot-stopper was part of the Rangers under-18 team and after making the switch to Queen’s Park Sam said: “I am very happy to be on board at Queen’s Park. I believe that they are a club with high standards and big ambitions which is great. I am really looking forward to a new challenge and a new environment to further improve myself.”

Queen’s Park’s Director of Football Marijn Beuker reckons that Sam has a great platform to develop on as he is good with his hands and his feet as he explained: “We are really happy to have been able to sign Sam. Not only is he a very talented goalkeeper, that is good at preventing danger around his goal, he is also good in being involved as the eleventh outfield player.

“These are attributes that we will look to further improve on in order that he can progress to our Senior set-up.”
