Queen’s Park can today confirm the signing of 29-year-old midfielder Grant Gillespie.
Grant started his professional career at the renowned Hamilton Accademical youth academy in 2008. He made over 200 appearances for the Accies, half of which were in the Premiership, before moving to Dundee United in January 2018. Spells with Raith Rovers and Derry City followed, before joining Ayr United in January this year, where he made 4 Championship appearances for The Honest Men.
Head Coach Ray McKinnon said: “I’m very happy to have been able to add a player of Grant’s calibre to the squad. His experience speaks for itself, having spent several years playing in the Premiership. Grant is a very good player whose addition to the squad strengthens us greatly.”
Grant said: “I’m delighted to have got the deal done. It was an easy decision after a number of months of uncertainty. I feel lucky to have joined the club at a time where there are a lot of players looking for contracts. My focus now is on making myself at home here and doing my best for the club.”
