Queen’s Park fell to defeat in the capital as hosts Heart of Midlothian took all three points at the Oriam in the penultimate match before the ScottishPower WPL1 split.
Kayla Jardine opened the scoring for the hosts with twenty minutes played as the nineteen year-old midfielder found the back of the net after a good cross from Joley Andrewa into the box found free in the penalty box.
Lauren McGregor was on hand to deny Jardine a quick-fire double as she looked to beat the keeper again two minutes later but McGregor prevailed with the ball this time around.
With fifteen minutes left to play in the half, The Spiders showcased another spell of great defensive play as Abbie Cusack made a fantastic block to prevent a threatening attack before McGregor was able to make another comfortable save; this time from distance.
A minute later, Hearts breached the defence, again through Kayla Jardine, as she doubled both her and her side’s tally to two goals.
Ashleigh Williams made it three before the end of the half as she got on the end of a well-timed Georgia Timms cross into the danger area.

Lizzie Waldie looked set to give her side a quick goal at the start of the second half with a well struck long distance shot that Lauren McGregor was able to tip over the bar.
The hosts were able to find the back of the net again in the 56th minute as Georgia Timms slotted the ball into the bottom corner from a tight angle.
Lauren McGregor made another great save to prevent another goal after getting a glove to a short-range effort from Ashleigh Williams.
Hungry for more goals, Hearts made it five before the seventy minute mark after Monica Forsyth’s cross found Olufolassade Adamolekun who tapped home from close range.
Adamolekun was able to double her total with three minutes left to play in the half with a great touch and nice finish after getting on the end of a long pass to make it six.
