Queen’s Park FC can today advise that they have extended Joseph Smith’s contract for a further two years.
The seventeen-year-old wingback completed the paperwork on his new deal at Lesser Hampden that will tie him to the Spiders until mid-2025 this week and he now becomes a permanent member of the Young Queen’s Park squad.

‘Jo-Jo’ as he is known to his team-mates joined Queen’s Park Under-12 side back in 2017 from Garnkirk and he is delighted to be given the platform to progress his career as he advised: “I was really pleased to be offered the opportunity to re-sign with Queen’s Park. I was only 11 when I joined the Academy and I have worked hard to get to this point.
“I am now looking forward to continuing the hard work that will hopefully help me progress to the next level. I would like to thank the coaching staff for giving me this opportunity’.
Queen’s Park’s Director of Football Marijn Beuker is delighted to keep hold of a creative and intelligent talent as he explained: “Joseph has developed tremendously over the last season. He has great speed and he is the type of wing back we are looking for in our next generation team.
“The pace that he has allows him to drive forward fantastically well and also be steady in defensive 1 on 1 situations.”
