Loan Report – Hat-trick for Caiden

CAIDEN ADAMS fired a hat-trick for Thorn Athletic in a 7-0 win over Kilbirnie Ladeside on Friday night in the WOSFDL Premiership.

That though was an out-lier in a tough weekend of results for most of the Spiders loanees. However there were plenty of match minutes for the players at various levels in the Scottish football pyramid.

Several under-19s were involved in the South Regional League Cup including Alex Eguagie who played 55 minutes of Albion Rovers’ defeat to Eddlewood FC. The striker’s side was reduced to ten men in the second half before exiting the competition.

And there wasn’t much better news for Valentino Taouss who was a second half sub as Whitletts Victoria went down 2-0 to neighbours Largs Thistle.

Lennox Quail played the entire game for Darvel but missed a penalty in a shootout defeat to Caledonian Braves. Boss Nacho Novo was also sent off in the 2-2 draw in the same competition.

Grant Kerr was on the winning side though as Gartcairn defeated Stirling University 3-0 away from home and the Spiders academy man a second half substitute.

AJ Doyle and Cole Burke met in the Lowland League West in another Spiders loan derby, with Renfrew bettering Cumnock 2-1 in an entertaining match, and Burke a late substitute for the Ayrshire side.

In the seniors, Josiah Sowa played an hour of Dumbarton’s defeat to Clyde when ex-Spider Jamie Bradley was man of the match.

The Sons slipped down the table in William Hill league Two, with Annan Athletic now tenth. The Galabankies were unable to include Milosz Sliwinski in their matchday squad as the goalkeeper was recalled by the Spiders following Jack Wills’ training ground injury on Friday.
