Loan Report: Marcel Makes A move

GOALKEEPER Marcel Krzeminski made his Albion Rovers debut – against our spouthside neighbours Pollok FC.

The under-17s no.1 signed a short-term loan deal with the Coatbridge side and was immediately pitched in by boss Steven Saunders for the Wee Rovers trip to Newlandsfield.

Albion Rovers also included his fellow Spiders Academy player Alex Eguagie in the matchday squad, starting the 5-1 defeat on the bench.

However the 17-year-old stopper was praised for his display – particularly one stand-out save in the first half.

Another Queen’s Park goalkeeper on loan, Milosz Sliwinski, started for Annan in the KDM Evolution Trophy against Hibs B.

Milosz has been a substitute for the Galabankies in the League Two campaign but has been sleected for the cup clashes and helped the southern side to a 2-1 win.

In the same competition Zebedee Lawson started for Rangers under-19s less than 24 hours after being an unused substitute for Queen’s Park in Arbroath.

He played 90 minutes on the left wing in a 4-2 defeat at Queen of the South while Josiah Sowa played the final half hour of Dumbarton’s 3-2 win over Banks O’Dee, with the Sons still sitting outside the qualification zone on goal difference with another local derby against table-topping Clydebank to come.

Elsewhere AJ Doyle lost a Renfrewshire derby in extra-time as Johnstone Burgh left it late to triumph over neighbours Renfrew at Keanie Park.

Grant Kerr was a second half substitute as Gartcairn won 4-0 against Petershill, as was Valentino Taouss for Whitletts Victoria’s 5-0 win over Maybole and Caiden Adams for Thorn Athletic’s 2-0 defeat at Threave Rovers.

Archie Aitchison was an unused substitute as Gretna 2008 recorded a handsome 5-1 win away at Dalbeattie Star.

On international duty, Spiders loanee Aiden McCallion played in Scotland under-19s’ defeat to Czechia on Sunday.
