JOSIAH SOWA helped Dumbarton off the bottom of William Hill League Two with a win over Elgin City.
The Canadian frontman has been out on loan since the start of the season and completed his first 90 minutes on Saturday.
It was a profitable time too as the speedy striker switched to left-wing-back to help Frank McKeown’s team to a 2-1 victory and a move three spots up the table in a match won by Ali Omar’s 66-yard strike.
Josiah’s appearance was the only pitch time for the Spiders out on loan around Scotland – but is unlikely to be the last this week.
Archie Aitchison was an unusued sub as Gretna 2008 went own 3-0 to Auchinleck Talbot and fellow goalkeeper Milosz Sliwinski was also on the bench as Annan Athletic went down 2-1 to Kelty Hearts.
Darryl Carrick remains injured and unavailable for the Galabankies.
Similarly Lewis Smith picked up an injury on his Arthurlie debut and the ‘Lie were without a fixture this weekend.
That was the same for Alex Eguagie at Albion Rovers, however more Spiders will have hopes of midweek action in the KDM Evolution Trophy.
Milosz Sliwinski and Annan host Motherwell B in the competition while Josiah Sowa faces a trip north-east to Cove Rangers.
Ben Brannan may be involved for Kilmarnock B on their trip to Cowdenbeath while Rangers trio Aiden McCallion, Zebedee Lawson and Lewis Stewart are expected to feature for Rangers B against Stirling Albion.
All midweek games take place on Tuesday with a 7.45pm kick-off.
