Louis Longridge delighted to sign on again

Louis Longridge has committed himself to Queen’s Park again with the former Raith Rovers, Falkirk and Dunfermline player happy for a fifth season as a Spider as he is ‘trusted’ to give his all up and down the pitch by Head Coach Callum Davidson.

‘Mr Versatility’, as Louis was described last season, first played for Queen’s Park in October 2020 and has now featured in 129 games for the club with 40 of them coming in season 2023/ 24.

Louis said: “The Head Coach spoke to me a few weeks ago about staying on and it was an easy decision to make. We agreed that we would focus on getting the club’s position in the Championship secured and then get the paperwork done.

“I have always enjoyed my time at Queen’s Park, and I have enjoyed working under Callum Davidson since he came in during January, as I know he trusts me to do a job in a number of positions.

“I had been known as a midfielder throughout my career and I was versatile in that area of the pitch as I could play right, left or through the middle. This season I have added being versatile in different areas of the pitch.”

That versatility saw Louis start games in defence and end up playing midfield or vice-versa and he said: “A year ago in pre-season I was asked to play right back and right wing back. I felt I did a job there and everyone that knows me, knows that I try my best in every game regardless of the position.

“It was good to prove I could do a job there when required. It was also good to show that I could start games in one position and then get moved in-game. Sometimes I would start in one position and end up playing in another two.

“It was good to be trusted to do that and I am looking forward to building on that next season.”
