Magnus Mackenzie signs New Queen’s Park Contract

MAGNUS MACKENZIE is the latest player to sign up for the new season at Queen’s Park.

The defender spent the first six months of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at East Kilbride, but returned to stake a claim in the Spiders set-up in the second half of the season.

Pitched in with ten minutes notice in our win over Ross County, Magnus went on to feature 14 times, eight from the bench for Sean Crighton last season.

The first-team manager said: “This was an easy decision. Magnus came back from six months at East Kilbride and was absolutely magnificent.

“His attitude every single day is what I want from our young players, and from our senior players too. It is fantastic.

He’s always willing to do the extra to get better and he has absolutely earned the right to sign a new contract with us this season.

“I think the fans saw towards the end of the season how much of a contribution he can make to the team and he will absolutely be part of the plans.

“He wasn’t always in the team, but he understood why and he just went about his business in the right way.

“He has earned his crack and I think he’ll get better and we will see more of his quality because I think there’s more to come from him too.”

As well as competing on two fronts last term, Mackenzie also took a barista course with PFA Scotland alongside his training and games with the Spiders.

MacKenzie said: “I’m really glad everything is sorted and now I’m looking forward to coming back in and trying to make a difference.

“I had plenty of opportunity to play lots of minutes last season, first at East Kilbride where the staff and club were great with me and that gave me the building blocks to come back here and add to that.

“The gaffer here is always speaking about expressing yourself. You want to impress, do the best you can and try to find a spot in the team starting every week but if I keep working hard hopefully that can happen this year.

“The grass pitches here [at Lochinch] are looking good and I’m looking forward to getting back into the hard work at pre-season training in a few weeks. It is a great team environment to be in here, and I’m looking forward to it.”
