Four weeks have passed since that momentous victory at Ibrox in the fifth round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup with the Spiders’ reward for that success coming in the form of another hugely challenging tie at Pittodrie this Saturday.
With a place in the semi-final of the competition awaiting the winners, the stakes couldn’t be much higher for Callum Davidson’s side and ahead of the trip north, the media team spoke to the Head Coach and midfielder Sean Welsh to preview the match.

The Scottish Gas Scottish Cup so far
The Spiders go have made hard work of reaching the last 16, having had to go through extra time and penalties in the third round against Partick Thistle at Hampden. With the match tied at 2-2 there would be no further scoring in extra time and Queen’s went on to secure victory 7-6 after a dramatic penalty shoot out. The Spiders then needed extra time to overcome Montrose at Hampden in the fifth round, eventually running out 3-2 winners last month. This was followed by February’s historic 1-0 fifth round win at Ibrox, with a Seb Drozd goal and Calum Ferrie pentalty save deep into injury time proving enough to separate the sides.
The Dons have reached this stage following a 3-0 win away to Elgin City in the fourth round, courtesy of goals from Shayden Morris and a Duk double. Their reward for that win was a home tie against Dunfermline, who they saw off with the same, 3-0, scoreline. This time the goals came from Pape Gueye, Alexander Jensen and Kevin Nisbet.

There are no online sales or cash gates for Queen’s Park fans.
