Match Preview: Ayr United vs Queen’s Park

OWEN COYLE’S THOUGHTS

It’s a massive game for both teams and one which we are really looking forward to. The nature of this league is so competitive, as we all know, but we have three games remaining and we decide our own fate.”

“We’ll need to make sure we are at our very best against what we know will be a very tough opponent but it’s a tie that everyone should be looking forward to.”

“The important thing for us is to get to our levels and get to our maximum, we know that if we do that we have shown already this season that we can win tough games. Of course by playing in front of the TV cameras it gives us the opportunity to raise the profile of the club and we want to make sure we do ourselves justice. That said, whether the game is played in front of a TV audience or not, the important thing for us is how we approach it.”

“We need to focus on what we can effect between now and the end of the season and that is our results. We knew there was always going to be huge twists and turns in a league as competitive as this one is. Every game is a real challenge no matter who you play or where it is played.”

“There are a number of teams in and around us who all have their own ambitions and every game over the coming weeks is a huge game for everyone but we need to focus on the task in hand tonight. Both teams will be going out to win the game, I’d expect nothing less than that, so it has the makings of a very good match.”

“On the squad front we are delighted to have Charlie Fox available for selection again after his recent suspension and Jack Thomson, who came off at half time last week, trained this week which has been encouraging. We do have one or two knocks and niggles to contend with but we will be sending a team out there that we feel can win the game.”
