The Spiders make the short trip to Hamilton to take on John Rankin’s in-form Accies side at New Douglas Park this afternoon.
OWEN COYLE’S THOUGHTS
“For the second week in a row we come up against one of the league’s in-form sides, as we did last Friday against Raith Rovers. I watched Hamilton Accies beat Inverness during the week and we are expecting another tough test. They are on a good run just now and we are respectful of that as we go into the game.”
“Having said that, we know that when we are at our best we can and will win games. That’s what we need to focus on. We need to focus on getting back to the levels of performance we have shown ourselves to be capable of this season. We did that for periods against Raith Rovers last week but the focus is on doing that for longer durations within games. If we do that, and perform well, we will win games.”
“We want to continue to take those steps in progressing our game, continuing to pass and move the ball well and being a good side to watch. To do that we need to be hitting those levels I speak about every week.”
“Where we have come from, our starting position at the start of the season has been incredible, but we now obviously want to see that through and what we know what we need to do if we want to achieve that. Every game we have coming up will be a huge challenge, whether it be on our travels or at our home from home of Ochilview. They are all big opportunities to win three points, and that starts at New Douglas Park this afternoon.”
“On the squad front there is a chance that last week’s absentees, Marcel Oakley and Scott Williamson, will return to the squad but equally there is also a chance that one or two will miss out. Lee Kilday is a doubt for this one but we will give everyone until the last possible moment before we make our final decisions and pick the team accordingly.”
