Queen’s Park hit the road and head East on Sunday to face Heart of Midlothian in ScottishPower WPL 1 action.
The Spiders head into the clash following defeat to other Edinburgh opponents Hibernian, however, the side will have a fresh injection of confidence after a spirited performance at Ochilview Park.
Meanwhile, the hosts go into tomorrow’s game off the back of, what they will consider a disappointing, 1-1 draw at Oriam to Patrick Thistle. The Jam Tarts currently sit in fifth place, nine points off joint league leaders Glasgow City and Celtic.
Both sides met in the first match of the season back in August. A special occasion that day as The Spiders celebrated a long-awaited return to the top-flight, however, the game ended in disappointment as Heart of Midlothian ran out comfortable victors.
Tomorrow marks Queen’s Park’s last away game and penultimate match before the split before they face Patrick Thistle after the international break at home on the 2nd of March to complete the regular phase of the season.
Looking ahead to facing Hearts, Head Coach Iain Robinson said: “Last week’s performance gives us a platform to build on going into tomorrow’s game, and we’ll be looking to carry that momentum into the match.
“As with previous games, we expect a tough test against a strong opponent. We know we’ll have to be well-organized and disciplined, especially defensively, as there will be periods where we’re under pressure. However, we’re confident in our ability to compete and impose ourselves on the game when the opportunities arise.
“The players have been working hard in training, and we’re looking forward to another challenge.”
