Match Preview: Inverness Caley Thistle vs Queen’s Park

It’s a second trip up the A9 in just a matter of weeks for the Spiders as they head north to take on Billy Dodd’s Inverness Caley Thistle side in Scottish Cup Fourth Round action tonight.

OWEN COYLE’S THOUGHTS

“It’s obviously a quick turnaround from Saturday’s game at Dens but we are looking forward to heading up there. Everyone loves the cup and, just as Inverness will feel, this game gives us the chance to progress to the next round, with an away draw to Livingston awaiting the winners. It’s all to play for and I’m sure we will see two very attacking minded teams going all out to win what will be a tough game.”

“Tonight’s game is likely to have that different feel to it knowing that it’s played to a finish. We are obviously very familiar opponents to each other but knowing that there is no replay and someone goes through on the night, I expect ourselves and Inverness to be right up for it and relishing the prospect of trying to progress through a difficult cup tie.”

“With the quick turn around from Saturday we are likely to make a few changes. We do have one or two injuries from the game at the weekend that we are keeping an eye on but we also have a few players chapping at the bit for an opportunity. It would be folly of us to rush those carrying niggling injuries back into this one given we have yet another quick turnaround to our league match on Friday so we will look at our options closely.”

“We are obviously also coming to the end of the transfer window and we are trying to add to the squad so lets see what today brings.”
