Dick Campbell's Arbroath are the visitors to The City Stadium for Queen's first home league match of the 2023/24 cinch Championship season.
ROBIN VELDMAN’S THOUGHTS
“It was very pleasing and important to start the season with a win in Inverness last Saturday and we now look to build on that. We have reviewed the game the following day, as we do the day after any game, and we know are aware of the area we need to reflect on.
“We want to play with a dominant style of play in possession but we know that we need to show more intensity when we get behind the opposition and into their box.
“We are aware of the threat that Arbroath will pose and are conscious that they will be looking for a reaction to their defeat last Friday night. Having lost four goals in 45 minutes we would expect some changes to their game plan. We have done our analysis but would not be surprised to see a different approach from them early in the game.
“We are delighted to have been able to bring Ben McPherson to the club this week and he will be included in what is a fully fit squad for the match. He is a promising young player who is a good match for the type of football we want to play here.
“It’s a game that we are all looking forward to and it will be great to be back in front of our own fans, playing in front of a sell out crowd. Their support will be crucial.”
