Match Preview: Queen’s Park vs Dunfermline Athletic

It's match day and it's a return to the National Stadium for the Spiders as James McPake's recently promoted Dunfermline Athletic provide the opposition.

ROBIN VELDMAN’S THOUGHTS

“This is a game we are all looking forward to and one which we obviously want to win. It is special for the club to be back at Hampden Park and that adds to the excitement around the match.

“We are looking to build momentum after last Saturday’s win against Bala Town. First and foremost we were obviously happy with the win, but it was even more pleasing that we dominated the game, scored three goals and keep a clean sheet. Ultimately, the winning margin could have been more than it was and I think going forward we do need to start taking more of the chance we are creating.

“We know going into this game that it will be important to reach the standards that we set with the squad and like last week we will look for the players to show their qualities on the ball. The players are encouraged to show these qualities in those one on one situations and last week we saw that on many occasions. That is something we want to see more of.

“It will obviously be a tough match against Dunfermline but we are looking forward to being back in front of our own fans and their support will play a big part.”
