Match Preview: Queen’s Park vs Inverness Caledonian Thistle

It’s the third of four consecutive home games in March for the Spiders as Billy Dodds’ Inverness Caley Thistle side make the long journey down the A9 for an eagerly awaited clash at Ochilview.

OWEN COYLE’S THOUGHTS

“We are looking forward to what we know will be a real tough match against a good Inverness Caley Thistle side. We are obviously now in the business end of the season and every game becomes your biggest game of the season at this stage.”

“Our focus and full concentration has to be on performing well, knowing, as we have shown on plenty occasions, that is we perform well, we can and will win games at this level. The important thing for us is to focus only on this game and while out on the park to pass and move the ball well, continuing to develop our style of play and progress what we are trying to put in place at the club.”

“We know that Inverness Caley Thistle will be very difficult opponents and they will be a team on a high given their exploits in reaching the Scottish Cup semi-final. They come to Ochilview with some good form behind them in the league as well having picked up a point at Dens Park and three points at Somerset Park in recent matches. We need to make sure we are at our best, it’s as simple as that.”

“We go into the game looking to build on the run of four unbeaten and build on the positives from last week’s win at home to Cove Rangers. We have been playing well and creating chances so it goes without saying that we want to continue that.”

“There are a few bumps and bruises and one or two within the squad will miss out, however we have players who are ready to step in and show that they are an important part of the group.”

“Once again, the backing of our supporters will be crucial. I’ve got nothing but praise for the support we have received throughout this season. They have been an absolute credit to themselves and this football club and what we are trying to do is give them performances and results that will put a smile on their faces.”
