Queen’s Park play their first home game of 2024 on Friday evening when Dunfermline Athletic visit with both clubs looking for their first success of the New Year.
Unlike Tuesday’s opponents Partick Thistle, who Queen’s Park have now faced four times this season, this will just be the second game against The Pars with the Fifers winning the first meeting 2-0 back in September.
A December trip east was called off due to snow and is being played later this month.
The Spiders need to go back to August 1985 for their last home win over Dunfermline however an away success was famously seen in May 2022 in the Championship Play-off semi-final.

Whilst Queen’s Park have been on a lengthy winless run a two-goal success over Dunfermline Athletic, in the game that is being shown live by BBC Scotland, would see them move off tenth spot.
A home win would also be revenge for a 2-0 defeat at Hampden in September when Lewis McCann grabbed both of the goals however a win for Dunfermline would take them into a promotion play-off spot.
Both sides go into the contest having lost narrowly to local opposition with Partick Thistle getting the better of Queen’s Park 3-2 and Raith Rovers winning 2-1 against Dunfermline.
Ruari Paton’s double at Firhill on Tuesday has taken him up to nine Championship goals with Craig Wighton top scoring for Dunfermline on five with McCann sitting on four.
