Queen’s Park have added a second new attacker this week with former Manchester United, Everton and Burnley youngster Max Thompson joining on a season long contract, with the option of a second season, after a spell in Slovakian football.
Max joined the Old Trafford giants at an under-9 level and spent eight years at the club before moving to Merseyside for a season ahead of a three-year stint at Turf Moor that included a First Team substitute appearance against Manchester City at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The now 22-year-old transferred to Sunderland last summer and then moved to Slovakian First Division side MFK Skalica in January and he will now join Seb Drozd at The Spiders.
*Queen’s Park’s Director of Football Darren O’Donnell said: “It is great to have another option in the forward area in Max. He joins us with an excellent pedigree in the game as you would expect when you consider the clubs he has been at.
“As well as being at clubs in England, Max wanted to include playing in Europe as part of his development and that shows you the calibre of person he is. He will be a real asset to the club.”
Darren added: “There are a lot of attacking options at the club now for Callum to choose from and we are happy with how the squad is taking shape.”
