Pupils from Mount Florida Primary are making the short trip ‘across the road’ on Saturday as the Cathcart Road School are the latest ‘Tickets for Schools’ partners of Queen’s Park.
Goalkeeper Jack Wills made the short trip to hand over the Match Tickets for Saturday’s meeting with Raith Rovers at The National Stadium at Hampden as well as providing the children with Black and White Hooped scarves and Black and White T-Shirts.
Jack said: “I was really pleased to be asked to come over and speak to the school about life at Queen’s Park. The children put a lot of thought into the questions they asked during the Question-and-Answer session and I had to do a lot of thinking on my feet.
“I have only been at the club for a short time but I really like the ‘Tickets for Schools’ initiative as it puts Queen’s Park at the heart of their local community and you do not get more local than Mount Florida Primary.
“On a match-day I have seen Queen’s Park players acknowledge the school children they visited after the game and I will look to do the same.”
Queen’s Park’s Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary added: “We have had a Tickets for Schools partner at every game at Hampden this season and it is great to have our near neighbours involved now as well.”
“As always it was great for one the players, in this case Jack, give up his time to be part of the visit.
“We have received great support from McDades Coaches for the ‘Tickets for Schools’ initiative this season however they can have this Saturday off.”
