Queen’s Park can today confirm the signing of 29-year-old forward Louis Longridge.
Louis started his professional career at Hamilton Academical in 2012 and went on to make over 70 Premiership appearances for the Accies. Comfortable on either wing as well as through the middle, Louis had spells at Raith Rovers, Falkirk and Dunfermline, making over 120 Championship appearances, netting 22 goals. Last season, he made 28 appearances for Falkirk, scoring 6 times.
Head Coach Ray McKinnon said: “Louis falls right into the category of player that we are working hard to bring to this club. We are trying to build as strong a squad as possible and Louis’ addition is very pleasing. He has turned down two clubs in the Championship to come here and he understands what we are trying to build. He’s a creative player who can contribute his fair share of goals, and his versatility across the frontline will add real quality to the squad.”
Louis said: “I’m delighted to get the deal over the line and have joined the club after what’s been a long lay-off from football for us all. The ambition of the club, the facilities and the set-up have been big factors in my decision-making. It was an easy decision to make my mind up when I became aware of the interest. We have a big season ahead and I’m really looking forward to getting going.”
Welcome to Queen’s Park, Louis!
