Partick Thistle v Queen's Park - Match Preview
QUEEN’S PARK make the short trip across Glasgow to face Partick Thistle in the first of two city derbies this weekend.
The other, of course, is at Hampden on Sunday but while the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals surround the Spiders home at The city Stadium, there’s league business to take care of in Maryhill.
The Jags are riding high in this season’s competition and they themselves made it to the knock-out rounds of the league cup.
And following a 1-0 win over Sean Crighton’s side at the end of September, Queen’s Park have something of a point to prove when they head along Firhill Road.

The Season so far...
Partick Thistle have had an almost mirror image of Queen’s Park’s season.
While the Spiders have only won three times this season in all competitions, the Jags have only lost three times across the Premier Sports Cup and league.
Their last match saw a 2-0 reverse to Raith Rovers – Queen’s Park’s next visitors at The city Stadium.
That said, under Mark Wilson and Alex Rae the Firhill side have been riding high, on the coattails of league leaders St Johnstone – boosted by a 1-0 win on the southside in September.
Sean Crighton was slightly deflated by his team’s performance that night and is hoping for an improved performance this weekend – especially on the back of the dogged draw with Ayr United last weekend.
Of course, following his red card in that match Henry Fieldson is unavailable for the Spiders.
