Partick Thistle v Queen’s Park – Robin’s View

Queen’s Park travel across Glasgow on Saturday to face Partick Thistle at Firhill in what remarkably is the first Scottish Cup tie between the sides since the Spiders took the honours, 95 years ago, with a 1-0 success back in March 1928.

The clubs have however met much more recently in the Championship with a 2-2 draw played out at Hampden on Friday, October 27. The game saw the lead change hands twice, two penalties awarded and the decision to award a goal that took longer than the equaliser did to arrive.

QPTV met up with Queen’s Park Head Coach Robin Veldman to discuss facing the Jags as well as test his knowledge about Cup football in Scotland and Belgium!

Robin covered:

  • Reset after Raith Rovers.
  • Partick Thistle knowledge.
  • Penalty kick caretaker Cup success thanks to goalkeeper.
  • Stuart McKinstry/ Squad News.
