Queen’s Park would advise that First Team Coach Paul Nuijten has opted to leave the club and return to his home country of The Netherlands.
Paul joined the club in 2022 from Dutch side Williem II, initially as Head of Youth & Pro Programme, before moving up to a coaching position with the First Team last summer.
Following Robin Veldman leaving the club last December Paul was placed in charge of first team affairs and led the team to a goalless draw with eventual champions Dundee United and a 2-1 win over Dunfermline.
Before heading home Paul wanted to share a message as he said: “I am grateful to everyone who made me feel at home during my time in Scotland. The fans were always great with me, and I have met, and made great friends with, a lot of great people.
“I am also grateful to the club for the opportunities I was provided with. I came over to work in the Academy and I really enjoyed that role before stepping up to the First Team last summer.
“It was an honour to lead the club for a period of time and I wish Queen’s Park well in the future under Callum.”
Head Coach Callum Davidson said: “I would like to thank Paul for all the hard work he put in during our time working together. I can understand his reasons for returning to The Netherlands and I wish him all the best.
“I said a few times last season that every point was vital and Paul’s role in securing points during his interim role in charge was beneficial to our season.”
A replacement to cover Paul’s departure from the coaching team will be announced shortly.
