IT’S OFFICIAL – Queen’s Park is home to the best playing surface in the William Hill Championship.
Throughout our first year at The city Stadium, our pitch has received praise from opposition managers and Spiders staff and stars alike.
Now, the experts at Pro Pitch have crowned the best in each league with William Watson and his team coming out on top of the turf table.
Using a data-led approach, Pro Pitch physically assessed the park three times throughout the season while also remotely monitoring the surface and conditions.
Celtic were winners in the top flight, but it’s the Spiders ground staff who have set the standard among the teams in the second tier.
William said: “I’m delighted on behalf of all the staff here at The city Stadium to pick up this award.
“A lot of work has gone into maintaining the surface this season to give Sean and the team the best possible pitch to play on.
“It is a source immense pride for myself to be recognised in this way and in the team effort that has contributed collectively to it.
“Although the domestic season has finished the hard work continues for the team here, to give Steve Clarke and the Scotland national team the best possible conditions to train on ahead of this summer’s World Cup in North America.”
