Queen’s Park striker Ruari Paton made it two Awards out of two for the club when he was chosen as the cinch Championship Player of the Month for August.
Paton joined the club from Queen of the South in June and his eye for goal, as well as his admirable work-rate, stood out during the past month to make him a fans’ favourite already.
The 23-year-old Dubliner scored three times in August, to take his tally for the season to seven, with two of his strikes being match-winners as Queen’s opened up with three consecutive victories.
Paton said: “I know that I employed to score goals and that as a striker you need to have an impact on the game even if you only get one chance.
“I have to give my team-mates credit for the work they have done to set things up for me. I would not have been able to score the goals that I have if it was not for them.
“Since I came in the boys have been great to work with and many of them could have won this award. It is great to be at Queen’s Park at such an exciting time for the club.”
