Queen of the South Preview

Manager’s thoughts

“It’s a game that we are very much looking forward to and one which we will doing all that we can to win. It’s nice to be going into a game that we are not favourites in, for a change, and we’re expecting a real test against a Queen of the South side who have hit a bit of form of late. We know they have a good squad with plenty of experience so it’s a test that we will relish.

“I don’t think that the previous meeting of the sides earlier this season will have any bearing on the match. We are in a much better place as a squad now in comparison to early in the season, and from that perspective it’ll be interesting to see how we match up to Queen of the South.

“There’s also the added edge of the game being broadcast live on the television and under the Hampden floodlights. It’s not often that chance comes around for us, so for it to be happening for the second time in a fortnight is excellent and I know the players are delighted at the opportunity to play in front of the TV cameras again.

“As always from our perspective, we will look to apply ourselves in the right manner from that first whistle to the last and it’ll be vital that we look to take any chances that we do create.
