Queen’s Enter New Broadcasting Partnership

Queen’s Park Football Club is delighted to announce a new broadcasting partnership with QTV Sports, City of Glasgow College, and University of the West of Scotland.  Specialist skills and resources across each organisation will combine to support the club’s live streaming service for the 2020/21 season.

Club President David Hunter said “This is an exciting partnership.  The club gains access to skills and resources to allow us to live stream our home games to supporters who are unable to attend Hampden while Covid 19 restrictions are in place.  At the same time, it will give experience to degree students from two of the leading educational establishments in the city.

Queen’s Park is renowned for developing talents of young footballers in our academy.  This partnership offers students the chance to put their studies into a live environment which can only benefit them as they complete their degrees and seek employment in their chosen profession.”

Jack McGill, CEO of QTV Sports said “QTV Sports has always been committed to providing a pathway from education to industry for the next generation of broadcast professionals.  We look forward to introducing the innovative remote production techniques we deploy elsewhere in the Premiership and Championship to both the students and Queen’s Park FC.”

James Wilson of City of Glasgow College said “Our BA TV students are really looking forward to working with Queen’s Park FC and QTV.  This partnership allows them to take the lessons learned in our multi-camera studio into the real world and it is a pleasure to work with organisations who share our commitment to developing valuable skillsets in an ever-changing vocational context.  Our best students can turn an opportunity like this into a career.”

Paul Tucker of University of the West of Scotland said “I’m very pleased that students from University of the West of Scotland will be able to join with Queens Park FC and QTV Sports on this exciting new venture.  We are now in our tenth year of working with QTV and we have seen countless students gain work experience covering live sporting events.  Many have gone on to get good jobs in the broadcast industry – some at QTV.  Our students are looking forward to helping provide a great service for Queens Park FC and developing their skills and employability in the process.”
