Queen's 18s lost 4-1 to Dundee United in CAS Elite League on Friday afternoon at Lochinch.
Two goals in each half were enough for the visitors to claim all three points with Jayden Fitzpatrick getting the consolation goal for the wee Spiders midway through the first half.
Dundee United put Queen’s under pressure right from the kick off taking the game with Theo McCormick and Lennon Connolly having to look sharp to close the danger down.
Eight minutes in, and the United pressure paid off, when Sean Borland reacted first to Zach Balfour’s excellent diving save to knock the ball home from 2 yards out.
The game continued at a pace with Jamie Bradley and Aiden McGinlay working hard to win dominance in midfield.
In the 19th minute Brandon Forbes made it 2-0 to the Tannadice side when he met a cross from a corner and headed into the net from six yards out.
Two minutes later the young Spiders pulled one back when Jayden Fitzpatrick forced a through ball past the advancing Dundee United keeper into the net.
Queen’s kept pushing and in the 38th minute, Conor Falls had the ball in the United net only to be pulled up for an infringement.
One minute from the interval Conor Falls had a shot on goal only to see the Tannadice keeper pull off a fine save.

The second half started in heavy rain and both sides pushed for control. Both sides created chances but mainly from outside the box.
In the 65th minute Jayden Fitzpatrick broke through wide right and shot only to see the United keeper block his shot.
Eight minutes later Ezekiel Cameron added a third despite Darryl Carrick’s best efforts to clear the danger.
One minute from time Dundee United added a fourth when Charlie Dewer knocked the ball into the net after a cross to the back post.
